It was brought back to the US from ETO by my mother-that's right my mother. It appears to be some kind of paperboard with leather strap to hold it closed.Ī couple more facts. Probably the original but in great condition. It had one magazine with it: marked "MAB" which I discovered is a French arms manufacturer. It has the larger safety lever, two identical slide detents, flanged trigger with large front surface (center groove isn't present) and the slide legend is in serif characters. The slide, frame, and barrel all are marked with this number. According to information gleaned from various online sources (Vanderlinden, Buffaloe, and Gangarosa) it was likely manufactured in the late teens or early twenties. I'd like to add another FN 1905 to your list. ![]()
